The Los Angeles Police Department has announced the capturing of a suspect in rapper Nipsey Hussle‘s shooting. 29-year-old Eric Holder was caught as he attempted to check himself in at a mental health facility in Bellflower, California.
Before the shooting occurred, Eric “Holder walked up on multiple occasions and engaged in conversations with Hussle“, says police chief Michel Moore. He then “came back armed with a handgun” and fired a number of shots striking Nipsey Hussle in the head and body.
The suspect, who is also facing two more counts of attempted murder of the other victims injured, is said to have been an underground rapper. Police chief Michel Moore says, “I’m not going to go into the conversations, but it appears to be a personal matter between the two of them“.
The LAPD thanked both the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the community for the heightened awareness/vigilance. Nipsey Hussle was set to meet with the LAPD on the day of the shooting, to work on stopping gang violence.
