The ingenious rapper, singer & songwriter SimmySimmyNya is back with his second single for the year. His latest offering is dubbed Lahlekile, which means “lost” in isiZulu. The song was released on the 8th of October. Certainly to be relatable in these days where isolation is condoned, Lahlekile is “an introspective and vulnerable offering“. The song delves into the effects of mental health issues.
Announcing the release SimmySimmyNya wrote,
The song explores what it feels like to be lost mentally, spiritually & emotionally. It describes the feeling of social anxiety, insecurity, paranoia and the emotions that come with feeling alone. The eerie soundscape gives it an atmosphere of boundless darkness, creating an image of floating in space, alone with your thoughts.@simmysimmynya on IG.
