This past Sunday – the road led @dopeoffthepress to the Kool Out R
On our arrival, we found American DJ and co-founder of the Lyricist Lounge – Ant Marshall on his set which he ended by putting on the first live performance for the night – Zimbabwean singer/songwriter and rapper Tha Slayer from Floric Entertainment graced the stage with a fire performance of Cartier, taken from his EP titled Prologue released in 2018.
Ant Marshall passed on the set to #SAHHA DJ of the year nominee; Akio, who play-listed a lot of bangers from the 90s and 2000s Hip Hop scene. Akio brought VI Kings Media recording and performing rap artist; Ginger Trill on his set and Ginger Trill hosted a cypher competition. Akio passed the session to P-Kuttah who hosted ByLwantsa and later on Ginger Trill introduced Ricky Rick.
After the Cotton Club boss finished assuring the fans that Cotton Fest, which will be hosted this 2nd of February, will be safe and after managing to stop all fans including the cameramen from recording the performance since it was a party – he had the roof shaking and ladies losing it with dance as the gents sang along to the hits he made in his career.
The event had other South Africa’s brand names pulling through; the likes of Tshego (singer/songwriter), 2LA (singer/songwriter, rapper and record producer), Moonchild (singer/songwriter), Siyabonga Radebe (actor/comedian) to name a few.
Special Shout Out to the Kool Out Crew.
