Nike By You is expanding its reach as the brand taps into African aesthetics. And who better to team up with than multi-award-winning Illustrator, Graphic Designer and Street Artist, Karabo Poppy. Surfacing from Vereeniging South Africa, together with Nike, Karabo brings the new Airforce 1 Low collection. An addition to a broadening Nike customized range, Karabo’s design is inspired by both the contemporary and traditional South African aesthetics.
Karabo’s designs exhume the familiar “beauty salon poster” touch and spirited beaded bracelets colours. Enthusiasts will be happy to know that they can choose amongst three colourways, namely; tan, maize yellow, and natural white. In addition, one will also be able to customize a pair by varying the colour palettes with vibrant red, orange, green and purple accents as well as render the embroidery as well as the swooshes.
