Toya Delazy is back with a new single dubbed gQoma. The name of the track directly translates to “it hits” and surely this one hits. gQoma, which is laced over a rugged, bouncy and hard-hitting beat, was ushered by London record producer Raf Riley.
The new single was born of an unexpected cypher session, Toya says. The creative attended the HeForShe female empowerment gig at The Vaults in London last year. Because of the beatbox during the cypher being “steezy AF“, Toya jumped in and started dropping some deep Zulu bars. An impressed audience led to a studio invitation and now gQoma is alive.
